So yeah, its been a few years since I've posted here. I've been really busy with work and life, but honestly there's no real excuse. I got an email from Google a while back saying that my Android apps would be removed from the Google Play store for policy violations. I had some free time over the last few days so I started down the rabbit hole to resolve those issues. Little did I know that trip would be a veritable who's who of all my source code and web hosting options. Needless to say, this has kept me busy for the last few days. First, I tried to update ThaumCheater to fix the Google issues. Seems it was permitting a much older copy that was built in 32bit, and Google demands that all apps now be fully 64bit. This also means that I had to remove all Google ad support as the libraries that i was using had 32bit code included. So yeah, none of my apps will have advertisements moving forward until I can find a better ad provider. Not really a big deal since I've never really made any money from the ads. Second, I found that Google had rejected my updates to ThaumCheater because my website wasn't secured. My website doesn't offer any place to enter data, except on the contact page, so I never really felt it needed securing. Oh well, I spent several hours trying to figure that out, and now the website is fully secured. I'm still a little concerned that it might break the webcom stuff, but I'll tackle that later down the line. As of right now, both ThaumCheater and Droplets are awaiting a Google review before their updates can be pushed out to you all. If those two go well, then I'll be updating Baseball Score Tracker, and Short Circuit next. Its been a frustrating few days, and I hope that I've gotten everything resolved at least for ThaumCheater. Once all these updates are done and published, then I'll look into Thaumcraft to see if there are any newer versions to add to the application. Its been a few years since I updated that, so i do expect to have new updates. As for Project Space, that's been set on a back burner for now. I still have that code, and I do intend on continuing development of it, but I'm holding on it because as it sits its not really anything new. There are plenty of other games that offer the same content. If I continue with that game, I want to make it unique, and fun. If I'm being honest with myself, the direction I was going with it isn't either of those. I do have a Project Battle that I've been working on lately. For a long time I've struggled with building an RPG battle system, so this project started out as me attempting to do just that. That test was successful, and I do have a fully fleshed out RPG battle system that includes being able to buy stat upgrades for the player, and the enemies get stronger along with the player as well. Of course what I currently have isn't really enough to call it a game, its just a proof of concept. I do intend to turn it into a game, but first I have to decide on several other things. As for YouTube, I would love to publish some more videos, but I currently can't. I had started recording a new series called Arcane Awakening, and had produced twelve episodes. I do intend to continue in that series, but like I said, I currently can't. I recently purchased a new desktop pc to replace my old laptop as my laptop was so old that it will not recieve any more Updates from microsoft. The newer pc is awesome and powerful, but it only has 16GB RAM installed. When I bought it, I also bought my wife a new laptop, so I opted to buy her RAM expansion, figuring I'd be able to save up and buy my own RAM later on. Unfortunately, after that the price of RAM has skyrocketed to astronimcal heights. My desktop would require DDR5 ram, and I'd prefer to get the best available which would be 32GB sticks at 6400Mhz. Currently, to buy four of those would be over $2,000. When I bought the pc it would have cost me just under $1,000 to upgrade my ram. So until the RAM prices decrease, I can't upgrade the RAM in my system, and don't have enough RAM to run modded minecraft and a screen recorder. I think that's all the updates for now. As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
