Its been nearly a month since my last post, and I figured you were due for an update on what was discussed. Development of the old school RPG has been underway since I last posted, and I've got a lot to show for it. As of this posting, I have a fully operational inventory system, a test world map, and player movement all working. Really all that I have left to do for the core engine is to build the battle scene. Once that is done, I can actually start working on building out the game world. While I've gotten a lot of work done already, I still have a very long way to go. I don't expect the game to be completed in the next few years, as even if I do build out the entire world and game, I'd still have work to do balancing the game. The game is being built specifically for XBox One. When I look through Microsoft's Store for XBox One games, I don't see very many old-school RPG titles included. I don't know if that was just due to a lack of developers or a lack of interest in that genre for XBox One. I'm betting that its due to a lack of developers, and if that is the case, then the game I'm building should sell fairly well as it would be filling a mostly empty niche market. Anyways, we'll see how it all goes once its released. Thank you for reading my blog, and don't forget to join my Discord server so that you can keep more up to date on what is going on with the game.
